The Church in Sardis

Have you ever felt as if you were just going through the motions with God? As though aspects of your faith have become more like items on a checklist rather than a relationship? This week, we’re taking a look at a church that struggled with the very same. The church at Sardis was full of spiritual zombies; they looked alive, but were spiritually dead inside, just going through the motions to uphold the appearance of spiritual life. How do we know for sure that we are spiritually alive? What are the signs of spiritual life? How can we take steps to keep our spiritual lives fresh and alive? It is easy for our comforts to lull us into complacency, but we cannot let this become the case with our relationship with our Heavenly Father. God still has more for us to do!
