The Church in Ephesus

On paper, the Church in Ephesus sounded like a truly great church with a lot of redeeming qualities. However, the Lord Jesus came to them with a rebuke: if they did not repent, they were in danger of losing their identity as a Christian church. This church had forgotten their first love and had instead been caught up in the distraction of their works and deeds. What are the dangers of a “successful” church?
